How does it work?

Running energy = power [W] × hours per active day × active days / 1000. Standby energy = standby power × remaining hours in a simplified 30-day month / 1000.

Total cost = energy [kWh] × price per kWh. Fixed network fees and time-of-use rates are not included. Preset wattages are illustrative, not model-specific measurements.

Important: A plug-in power meter is more reliable than a device’s maximum rated wattage.

Frequently asked questions

Why might my bill be higher?

Additional utility fees and variable rate components are not included unless you factor them into your price per kWh.

Does a 750 W PSU mean my PC always draws 750 W?

No. A PSU rating is its output capacity, not the computer’s constant consumption.

Practical, non-promotional buying considerations. Future partner recommendations will be clearly disclosed.

Energy meter

Measure kWh over a real operating cycle instead of treating nameplate watts as a constant draw.

Energy-monitoring smart plug

Check the rated load and suitability for the appliance. Do not exceed its electrical rating.

Frequently asked questions

How can I measure an appliance’s real consumption?

Use an energy meter that reports kWh. Nameplate wattage may differ substantially from actual average power.

Is standby consumption included?

Yes, when you enter standby wattage. The estimate uses operating hours and the remaining hours in the assumed month.
