How is it calculated?

Theoretical power is bounded by charger power in the selected PD profile, device input limit, cable rating, and voltage × supported cable current (3 A for standard 60 W cables, 5 A for correctly rated high-current cables). Actual negotiated power depends on PD profiles, PPS/EPR, thermal limits and state of charge. This is not a USB compliance tester.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 240 W cable always deliver 240 W?

No. Both charger and device must support an appropriate USB PD EPR profile.

Can a 100 W charger force a phone to charge at 100 W?

No. The phone may negotiate a much lower limit.

Look for rated power, certification markings and electronic identification where required for higher currents.

Supported PD profiles and device compatibility matter more than the headline wattage.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 100 W charger always charge at 100 W?

No. The negotiated USB Power Delivery profile and the capabilities of the device and cable determine the limit.

Does every USB-C port support fast charging?

No. The connector shape alone does not guarantee Power Delivery or a particular charging wattage.
