Calculation inputs

Change any value for an instant recalculation.

For mAh: mAh ร— nominal voltage / 1000.
Actual input power, not only rated charger power.
ย
ย
Estimate; depends on battery and electronics.
1.00 means constant power; 1.15 adds 15% time.

How is it calculated?

Energy to replenish = Wh capacity ร— (target โˆ’ starting charge)/100. Time = energy to replenish / (charging watts ร— efficiency) ร— slowdown factor. Actual power varies during charging, especially near full charge.

Frequently asked questions

Does a 100 W charger always deliver 100 W?

No. Device, temperature, and negotiated protocol may limit charging speed.

Why is this an estimate?

Real charging typically tapers and varies by state of charge.

Equipment related to this calculation

Practical, non-promotional buying considerations. Future partner recommendations will be clearly disclosed.

USB-C PD charger

Match the charging protocol and wattage to the device; peak power is not sustained throughout charging.

Charging cable

Check current, wattage and standard support; a cable can limit charging.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the charging time only an estimate?

Real charging rates change, especially close to full charge. The simplified model cannot fully represent the charging curve.

Does a charger always deliver its maximum rated power?

No. The device, cable, charging protocol and temperature may all limit the actual power.
