Resin print inputs

Enter resin consumed including supports and post-processing costs.

Slicer volume.
E.g. IPA and consumables.
Markup is not gross margin.
Inputs are saved only in this browser on this device.

How does it work?

The slicer volume in ml should include supports. Resin cost = volume × (1 + waste %) × price per litre / 1000.

Add washing, curing, printer time and other consumables. Divide by (1 − failure rate) for average cost per successful print, then apply a markup.

Important: Do not count support material twice. Slicer volume, IPA usage and post-processing inputs are estimates; add labor under other costs if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does resin for supports count?

Yes, provided the slicer volume includes supports. Additional waste means resin lost beyond that volume.

Are washing and curing costs automatic?

No. Enter their estimated energy and consumable expenses per print.

Worked example: resin printing cost

Examples explain the formulas and do not represent current retail prices.

Example: 50 ml at 35 per litre

With 50 ml, 10% waste and a resin price of 35 per litre, resin alone costs 1.93 in the same currency, before washing, curing, machine and failure costs.

Why finishing costs matter

Resin printing often includes cleaning, curing and protective consumables. Keep per-part costs separate from fixed batch costs.
